Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.

Assateague Island

Every Tree
carries the snow with it's own grace
bends to the breeze with it's own sway
etches the clouds with it's own stroke
bows to the ice with it's own resolve
rights it's trunk clenched by it's own roots
drenches itself in it's own desire
and creates it's own spring.
